Laura Marling

Earlier in September I designed and printed a run of posters for the European tour for Laura. The brief was ‘demonic but no demons’ which I think I managed to pull of well! The hands in the poster are Laura’s! I had the pleasure of going to see her at Symphony Hall in Birmingham as well which was great, a really stripped back set – just Laura and a guitar. The posters have possibly sold out, I will post a link to her site if they have any left in the future.

Daughter at Shepherd’s Bush Empire

I was lucky enough to be at Daughter’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire gig last week. Was a great set and an amazing achievement for the band who have a great debut album and have worked incredibly hard this year .It was also great to see the merch stand as I had designed the majority of it! Apologies for the out of focus gig picture!

Daughter Prints

Finished the last of the prints for Daughter today with the prints for their sold out Shepherds Bush Empire gig on the 29th. Over the last few weeks I’ve also been working with the band Bear’s Den over the last few weeks to design a print for their upcoming tour… now to start printing for them! They have been supporting Daughter in the US leg of their tour as well as Mumford and Sons.

New Daughter Prints

Over the last month or so I’ve been working on a set of new prints for Daughters’ up and coming UK and European tour. The band gave me free reign to come up with some idea. The design for the regional dates of the tour was based on the verse of their track ‘Tomorrow’ -By

By tomorrow we’ll be swimming with the fishes
Leave our troubles in the sand.
And when the sun comes up,
We’ll be nothing but dust,
Just the outlines of our hands

By tomorrow we’ll be lost amongst the leaves,
In a wind that chills the skeletons of trees,
And when the moon, it shines, I will leave two lines.
Find my love, then find me.

Posters will be on sale at all their shows and are printed as limited edition for each night of the show. There is also a special print for the Shepherds Bush Empire date that depicts all the venues the band has headlined in London since the start of their career. Each print has been hand printed by myself once again! I will have a few artists proofs left to sell at the end of the tour in my etsy shop if you don’t manage to get one at the gigs.

Gig Poster Exhibition.

As part of Artweeks in Oxford I teamed up with local record store Truck Records to put on an exhibition of my screen printed gig posters from the last few years. It was great to exhibit them in their coffee shop, and I made lots of sales to boot…which was nice;)

Daughter@Oxford Town Hall

Just found this photograph I took at the daughter gig back in April. This was the European and US tour that I designed and made their poster for so it was great to finally go and see the band and see my posters being sold – they sold out that night which was great!The band always seem to choose such great venues to play – not that my photograph does it much justice!

Greenbelt Festival 2013

Back in June I was asked to submit proposals for t-shirt designs for GreenBelt Festival. It’s Greenbelt’s 40th anniversary this year so I was pleased to be asked to submit – particularly as I used to go to the festival alot in my youth! The brief was to come up with a ‘classic’ t-shirt design that encompassed the spirit of the festival. I used designs from previous festivals to create a design that celebrated their 40 years, apparently they are using my design on t-shirts and mugs this year!
